Full fledged Ayush hospital in Imphal

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he first ever full fledged AYUSH hospital will be inaugurated at Lamphelpat near the Centre School premises in Imphal by next week.
This was disclosed by Director AYUSH Dr K Lokendro Singh on the sideline of the four day Manipur state Arogya fair 2015 which was inaugurated today at the Manipur Film Development Corporation auditorium at palace gate in Imphal.
“The construction of the building as well as fitting up of others equipment s of the said integrated 50 bedded hospital have already been completed. We’re waiting for a good weather condition for its formal inauguration,” says Director Dr K Lokendro. “The hospital will provide various kinds of treatment centres and other natural treatments besides yoga sessions etc once the hospital is inaugurated.”However there will be nominal charges for some specific treatment, he added. The objective of opening the hospital is to promote AYUSH activities and other cost effective alternative medicines in the state besides controlling various kind of diseases without medicines but with AYUSH methods.
“Manipur being a poor state, we need to develop a new treatment initiatives with the existing natural resources without any side effects,” he added. Besides we’re also looking for a free health check up by providing free medicines.
Manipur’s AYUSH hospital could be the second such hospital in the entire North Eastern region after Shillong, according to Dr BR Bharali of North East Indian Ayurveda Research Institute, Beltola in Guwahati who was attending along with his staffs at the ongoing Arogya fair at MFDC auditorium complex at palate gate.
Sharing a similar sentiment, New Delhi based Central council for research in yoga and naturopathy’s assistant Director (Yoga) Dr Suresh Bhandarkar led team will be demonstrating various yoga practices during the course of the Atogya fair in Imphal which is scheduled to continue till April 27.
Dr Lokendro also admitted that they are expected to form a scientific committee of the state to oversee the spread of bird flu to humans if any as the state capital has been hit by the bird flu since the past six days. The bird flu was reported from the ICAR poultry unit at Lamphelpat in Imphal after the sample sent to Bhopal laboratory turned out to be positive.Since then widespread culling of the chickens and dugs are on within the radius of 1 km.
Regarding the report of controlling swine flu in the state, AYUSH Director also informed that the department has distributed as many as 11 lakh arsenic album doses against the target of 10 lakhs in the past few months.
Who knows our effort might have bear fruit as the fear psychosis about swine flu among the general public has gone by now, he felt.
The day’s formal inaugural session of the Arogya fair was attended by state health minister Phungzathang Tonsing as chief guest. President of Homeopathic medical association Manipur and former minister Dr M Nara Singh,state health director Dr O Ibomcha Singh, Director Family welfare Dr K Rajo Singh were the guests of the honour while Director AYUSH Lokendro Singh as functional president.
