Dimapur, September 26 : The Dimapur Urban Councils Chairmen Federation (DUCCF), a member of the Coordination Committee on Fuel Adulteration, has extended support and endorsed the ultimatum served to the State Government for institution of a CBI enquiry within 15 days on the fuel adulteration issue.
In a release today, the DUCCF said it has been closely following the developments from the day of busting the fuel adulteration racket by ACAUT. “It's disheartening to know the naked display of corrupt nexus between the F&CS department and the adulteration kingpins and the inaction of the state Public Prosecutor,” it said.
Stating that one need not delve much into the details of apathy by the State machinery as it is there for everyone to see, the DUCCF said the Dimapur urban area public knows the fact of being deprived of the monthly kerosene which hardly reaches the beneficiaries, barely twice or thrice in a year.
It alleged that the bulk of the kerosene is diverted for adulteration. “The ethical values in the art of governance is nowhere to be seen,” the federation said.
Underlining that the government of the day must not underestimate the growing displeasure of the common man, the DUCCF said “unmasking the culprits will surely be costly for those in the chair of power”.
“But let it be a reminder to all that the real power belongs to the people. Bringing in the CBI to unmask the culprits is the only legitimate way for the government to prove its mantle,” it said.
The DUCCF also appealed to the youths, leaders and public under the municipal area of Dimapur (74 colonies) to be prepared for the execution of the action plan of national highway bandh in the event of failure by the State Government to bring in the CBI for through investigation of fuel adulteration issue and to re-arrest all the fuel adulteration kingpins.
