Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) conducted a two-day food safety supervisor course under food safety training and certificate (FoSTaC) on January 30 and 31 at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur. 

An update from FSSAI informed that Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh and Amit Kumar Singh from Aroma Shiksha Evam Sewa Samiti, Kolkata, were the resource persons of the training. It added that a brief introduction to FSSAI was presented by Samuel Zehol, designated officer of Dimapur zone.

It informed that the training was imparted in two batches. On the first day, more than 30 food business operators (FBO) from the manufacturing category of food business were trained, while on the second day, about 30 FBO from restaurants and hotels were trained.

It stated that FBO were trained on the good manufacturing practices (GMP), good hygienic practices (GHP), proper labeling of products etc. Besides, FBO were also informed on mandatory requirement of FSSAI license and registration by every food business operator and fitness certificate.

It stated that IEC materials such as leaflets, pink book, dart, and orange books on food safety were also given to the FBO during the training.
