On completion of 25 years in the service of human resource development and good news, the Franciscan Sisters of Saint Mary of the Angels (FSMA) congregation organised a thanksgiving programme in the convent’s chapel with Rev. Fr. Raymond D’Souza SJ, director of Eden Garden and Children’s Home, Khuzama, on December 1.

An update from the convent stated that two sisters from FSMA were posted in 1995 and later took charge of Sacred Heart School administration in 1997. The two sisters first came to Nagaland following a letter written by Rev. Fr. Terence Farias SJ, then Provincial of Jesuits Karnataka Province, stating that FSMA from Aligarh would be posted as earlier as possible at Khuzama.

Addressing the thanksgiving programme, Fr. Raymond lauded the nuns for their sincerity, hard work, simple living, honesty, faithfulness and humility. He stated that the basic mission of the sisters apart from school was visiting families and catechism.

Fr. Raymond also asked the faithful to give thanks to God for completion of 25 years journey.

Special prayer was offered for good health of the sisters to continue the mission of life. The gathering also paid homage to two sisters who have left the earthly home while serving in Khuzama.

Eden Garden in-charge Fr. Rajesh Lobo, FSMA community from Dimapur and Kidima as well as church leaders from different villages took part in the thanksgiving programme.
