Friends of 80 plus observe Ninth Foundation Day

Friends of 80 plus, an organisation caring for the aged persons of Kohima Village Kohima today observed the 9th Foundation Day with Social Activist Niketu Iralu as the chief guest hosted by Pfuchatsumia khel.
There are 141 persons, both men and women are living in Kohima Village out of which about 60 attended the day.
Addressing the gathering, Iralu said the most precious mind is with the old aged persons as they have experienced life.
He hoped that their experience and wisdom enlightens the leaders, youths and the future generation of the Naga people. He also wished that the similar act of befriending the aged people be practiced amongst the Naga society.“I believe if all the youngsters were to think good things, write them down and also put them into practice, it can reap beneficial results,” he said.
During the programme, Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union president Pelesielie Khezhie and family honoured the elders with gift hampers.
Chaired by social activist Neidonuo Angami the programme commenced with Pastor of Khedi Baptist Church Neivizolie Chielie saying the invocation.
Kohima Village Council treasurer Hielievo Solo delivered tehw elcome address while special numbers were presented by Kereivilie Kire and Friends of 80 Plus. Chairman of P. Khel Kohima village Zeneizo Rutsa tendered the vote of thanks.
Free medical check up and care for the 80 plus citizens was conducted by Kohima Village Doctors Association.
