DIMAPUR — The 2nd intensive free boxing coaching camp organised by Boxing Association Mokokchung (BAM) in collaboration with the department of Youth Resources and Sport and Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association concluded on Tuesday after fourteen days of gruelling training.
The camp was held at P Shilu Ao Park, Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung. According to a press release, during the valedictory programme, the participants and coaches were presented with certificates.
Thirty-one aspiring boxers of various ages, both boys and girls, registered for the camp, which was coached by L Chophy of the department of Youth Resources and Sports. He was assisted by two boxers from the Khelo Indian Sports Centre for Excellence (Boxing)—Uzhozu Neinu and Manchen.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]During the valedictory programme, Chophy, while expressing his deep satisfaction with the large turnout, commended the participants for quickly learning the various boxing techniques.
He expressed confidence that the young participants would excel not only in the state and northeast, but also at the national and international levels within the next five years if they continued to work hard.
While exhorting the gathering, BAM executive member Alemyanger Jamir encouraged the participants to be disciplined and keep their focus so that they can excel not only in sports but also in their lives.
