Fragmented Hope

By EMN Updated: Sep 29, 2023 9:21 pm

Fragmented hope threaded together by faith.

Still alive, still walking but with a wobbly gait.

My variegated dream doesn’t need a crutch;

I shall pursue it under heaven’s close watch.

Is my goal too high to attain?

Has my labour been in vain?

Nay, the reward could be in the next bend.

Journey on and on and to your call attend.

The moon and stars shine bright only at night.

Darkness must sharpen your mind, your sight.

Foes and friends alike remain cruelly unseen.

Standing alone, fighting alone, so it has been.

Is my dream too big to realise?

Won’t my toil’s fruit materialise?

Nay, it isn’t the time to gather your harvest.

Wait on the Lord and keep doing your best.

Surely life, this isn’t all; this isn’t everything.

Have you covered the distance for nothing?

The reward must be greater than you think.

Even if it isn’t, don’t ever let your hope sink.
