Four Naga lads win medals at MMA India nationals in Mumbai

Dimapur, Oct. 24 (EMN): Four MMA fighters -- Arsenba Ozukum (flyweight 57kgs), Limasunep Imchen (bantamweight 61kgs), Kekhrieneitso Angami (featherweight 66kgs), Avizo Lanamai (lightweight 70kgs) from the Combat Academy Dimapur represented the state in their respective weight divisions at the Striking MMA India nationals held at the District Sports Club in Sion, Mumbai from Oct.  22 to the 24th.

An update informed that Arsenba won gold in Striking MMA, Limasunep Imchen secured gold in MMA and Kekhrieneitso competed in both MMA and striking MMA, winning gold and silver respectively, while Avizo Lanamai won bronze in MMA.

The three gold medalists have been chosen to represent India at the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) world championships to be held in Berlin, Germany in December, it stated.

It said that Arsenba Ozukum, Limasunep Imchen and Kekhrieneitso Angami represented India at the GAMMA Asian Championships in Kazakhstan earlier this year, where Ozukum won a bronze in MMA and Angami won silver in Striking MMA.
