Four killed in road accident in Karbi Anglong
DIMAPUR — In a tragic road accident in Karbi Anglong, Assam, four lives were lost as a Gypsy vehicle collided with a Thar jeep on the Barpathar road stretch on December 18.
According to sources, the incident occurred at around 5 am, resulting in two immediate fatalities in the Gypsy, with two more succumbing to injuries on the way to the hospital.
Three others, including a minor, are currently receiving medical treatment at the Olive Christian Hospital and Research Centre and Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research in Dimapur.
The Gypsy, carrying seven individuals en route to Mon district, reportedly collided with the Thar Jeep, leaving the lone occupant of the jeep with minor injuries.
The deceased were identified as Niangmei B Konyak (F), an assistant professor at Wangkhao Government College in Mon, Langbhong (M), a teacher at Government High School Mopong in Mon District, Nzalya (F) aged 27, and Nayamshan (F) aged 27. The hospitalised individuals are Kaiyong (M) aged 20, Taibay (M) aged 29, and an 11-year-old boy.
