Dimapur, July 14 (EMN): Four Covid-19 positive cases have been confirmed on July 13 at Nagaland House in New Delhi after a staff member travelled from Nagaland by air to the national capital in June and tested positive, bringing the total cases to five.

The public relations officer (PRO) of Nagaland House spoke to Eastern Mirror and informed that a staff member had been on vacation in Nagaland and returned to Delhi in June where she had been in home isolation.

“She developed some symptoms during her quarantine and was taken to BLK hospital where she was found positive,” the PRO informed.

The official informed that 44 of the Nagaland House staff were tested on July 13. Out of them four tests returned positive and are currently in self-isolation at Nagaland House.

“Today (July 14) around 50-60 more staff have been taken to the government hospital for testing. We will strain out (sic) the whole staff and test everyone who are residing in the Nagaland House,” the PRO said.

The test results of the remaining samples are yet to be released till the filing of this report.

The PRO informed that as per standard operating procedures, all mild positive cases would be placed in home isolation while those showing severe symptoms would be admitted to the hospital.

It was also informed that no officials or occupants were staying at Nagaland House when the lady was tested positive.

“Few officials are staying at the Nagaland House, RK Puram, right now where there is no threat. No occupants at Aurangzeb road,” the PRO said.

The deputy resident commissioner (DRC) also told this newspaper that the lady who was admitted to the BLK hospital was in the ICU but is scheduled to be shifted to the ward today.

“The four cases detected on Monday are asymptomatic while the lady is recovering. (We) had a video conference chat with her on Monday and she is doing fine,” the DRC said.

“Testing is still going on for all the staff and more results are awaited,” he informed.
