Four from Nagaland clear UPSC civil services exam

DIMAPUR — Four candidates from Nagaland have cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination, results of which were declared on Tuesday.

Aditya Srivastava clinched the top spot in the civil services examination, while Animesh Pradhan and Donuru Ananya Reddy secured the second and third positions, respectively.

The candidates who cleared the exam from Nagaland were Tolino Chishi (431), Alemyim Isaac (749), Imsurenla Longkumer (774), and Chubalemba B Chang (915).

Twenty-five-year old Tolino Chishi told this newspaper that she cleared the exam in her second attempt. With a BA Honours degree from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, she also cleared the Nagaland Public Service Commission prelims last year but did not appear for the main exam.

She did her early schooling from Northfield School, Kohima, completed her high school from Little Flower School, and now resides in Dimapur.

Chubalemba B. Chang

At the age of 30, Chubalemba B. Chang succeeded in his sixth attempt and is currently a full time faculty at the National Institute for Civil Services Examination (NICSE) in Nagaland.

Chang attended St. John School in Tuensang for his early education and completed his HSSLC at Government Higher Secondary School in Tuensang. He pursued his BSc degree at Sao Chang Government College in Tuensang and completed his M Sc in Chemistry from Nagaland University in Lumami.

Alemyim Isaac

Alemyim Isaac Solo who is currently an EAC in Mokokchung, also cleared the exam in her sixth attempt.

She did her early schooling from Heritage School Delhi and B. Com from Delhi University and completed her Masters in International Relation from JNU Delhi.

Imsurenla Longkumer

Imsurenla Longkumer, who is currently working as EAC probationer and undergoing training at ATI, Kohima, cleared UPSC in her 6th attempt as well.

She did her early schooling from Assam Valley School, Tezpur, B. Com Honours from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi and MBA equivalent from IIM Bangalore.

This year, a total of 1016 names have been recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services Group A and Group B.

Out of the 1016 candidates recommended for appointment, 347 were from general category, 115 from EWS, 303 from OBC, 165 from SC and 86 from ST categories.

Meanwhile, Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio took to X to congratulate the successful candidates. “Proud moment for Nagaland as 4 aspirants from the State have cleared the prestigious UPSC 2023. Congratulations, Ms. Tolino Chishi – AIR 431, Ms. Alemyim Isaac – AIR 749, Ms. Imsurenla Longkumer – AIR 774 and Mr. Chubalemba B. Chang –AIR 915. I wish you success in the service of the nation,” he wrote.
