Former vice chairman of NStCB declares candidature for ULB election

MOKOKCHUNG — A declaration programme for I Tali Longkumer, a 64-year-old candidate for the urban local bodies (ULBs) elections from Ward 11, Sangtemla, was held at the Sangtemla Ward community hall on Monday.

Longkumer is the former chairman of Sangtemla Ward and has served in various civic bodies. He has also been a board member and vice chairman of Nagaland State Co-operative Bank (NStCB).

In his address, Longkumer emphasised his commitment to initiating development in Sangtemla Ward if given the mandate. He stated that economic growth and job creation are among his top objectives in contesting the upcoming civic body election.

He opined that economic growth and job creation will empower youth.

Sharing his agenda for crucial developments to promote the growth of Mokokchung town, he said the focus will be on urban amenities and facilities, including street lighting, public conveniences, and sanitation.

He also highlighted the importance of addressing the needs of the differently-abled community.

On the occasion, short speeches were also delivered by K Lanu Imchen (a former Mokokchung Town Committee member), R Sentila Jamir and Achipong.
