Former DMC councilors laud development works
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he recent road repairing and drain clearance drive initiated by the Dimapur Municipal Council under the Administrative Officer, Shri. Atokhe Aye, NCS, has come as a great relief to the people of Dimapur.
The lack of development for the past several years in the most important town of Nagaland has really put us all denizens to shame. Being in public life we are answerable to the people but we are unable to do so as far as for maintenance and new basic amenities are concerned. This initiative by DMC comes as a good relief to all of us and we are optimistic that many more areas will be covered in the days to come.It needs to be mentioned here that within a short span of time the DMC has been able to black-top the Murgipatty area, Old Masjid road, Old Over-Bridge Colony and the most important drainage passing through the middle of the town. The same has been funded from the revenue from toll tax collections of the civic body. It should work as an eye-opener for everybody that the DMC can undertake difficult tasks if they are being led by an able officer.
We look forward that many more development activities will be taken up for the common good of all under the officer who is a permanent Dimapurian. Lastly, we would also appeal to the state Govt. to allow the DMC to carry on with the good job without and hindrance.
