Foresters urged to be more committed

Dimapur, Sep 2 (EMN): The convocation programme of 38th Batch forest guard training course was held at State Environment & Forestry Training Institute, Dimapur on August 31.
I. Panger Jamir IFS, PCCF & HoFF, who graced the function as chief guest, thanked all ranks and files of the department for their contributions in some of the exemplary achievement made by the department, especially the preparation of Forest Management Plan for the whole State. He also said Nagaland is the state in the country for preparation of the plan.
He also advised the newly passed out foresters to be more committed forest officers, and to maintain and live to the dignity of their uniform they wear.
A total of 25 forest guard trainees from 16 different divisions completed the six months mandatory training course conducted by the Institute from March to August. The overall Best Forester of the batch was awarded to Y. Khopenthung Shitiri from Doyang Plantation Division.
The programme was chaired by Dr. N. Senthil Kumar, IFS, Conservator of Forests (RPU), while annual report of the institute and declaration of result was presented by Director of SEFTI, Hukato Chishi, IFS and vote of thanks was pronounced by faculty of SEFTI, Limaangtet Jamir.
