DIMAPUR — The conservator of forest (CF) of northern territorial circle (NTC), Rongsenlemla Imchen, visited Longleng forest division for a review meeting on the functioning of Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) under Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and also inspected the batch-III in Yachem village on February 20 and 21.
During the review meeting, Imchen appreciated the Longleng forest division under the guidance of H Tokugha Chophy, DFO-cum-DMU head of Longleng, for executing the work well. She also expressed happiness to learn that much of entry point activity (EPA) and water harvesting structure (WHS) were constructed in convergence with other government departments and village councils.
Tokugha Chophy delivered the welcome address, which was followed with PPT presentations by Ailong Phom, ACF-cum-ADMU head of Longleng, and Bedangmongba Ao, deputy ranger-cum-FMU head of Sitap Range, as well as by FNGO team leader and DMU support staff.
While in Yachem village, Imchen encouraged the Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) and self help groups (SHG) to perform their roles sincerely so that batch-III could be a model for other villages.
She also held a consultative meeting with JFMC and SHG of the village and later inspected the nursery plantation, jhum agro forestry (JAF) 1 and 2.
