Forest officers awarded for protecting wildlife

EMN DIMAPUR, JANUARY 26 Two Range Forest officers Obed Bohovi Swu and Rampaukai, Forest Protection Force were given Governor’s awards with commendation certificate for protection of Amur Falcon and for their services in conservation and protection of forests and biodiversity in the state on the occasion of Republic Day. According to a press release isasued by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force Nagaland, M Lokeswara Rao, this is the first time that forest department officials have been awarded with Governors gold medals. The awards will give motivation and moral boost to the officers and staff for protection and preservation of our rich forests and biodiversity, said M Lokeswara Rao while sharing his happiness on receiving the awards by the forest officers. Obed Bohovi Swu Range Officer, Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar, Dimapur received the award for his services to the Forest Department in protection and conservation of Biodiversity and instrumental in development of Nagaland Zoological Park Rangapahar, Dimapur and also protection of government property from encroachers. Rampaukai, Range officer Jalukie Range , Peren Forest Division had been awarded for his services to the Forest Department in protection and conservation of Biodiversity, wildlife crime control initiatives and developing old jalukie community biodiversity reserve and awareness among communities for protection of forests Shri Forest Protection Force deployed for Amur Falcon protection Since the forest protection force have protected the Amur Falcon roosting site day and night with dedication “Nagaland became the falcon 13Protection Force. The Nagaland Forest Protection force numbering 22 staff deployed to the roosting site, who have done their duty sincerely, with dedication Nagaland Protection force has been awarded Governors commendation certificate
