Forest dept. inaugurates library and resting shed in Tseminyu
The divisional forest officer (DFO) and head of divisional management unit has inaugurated Ehunnu village library and Tseminyu village resting shed on August 11
DIMAPUR — The divisional forest officer (DFO) and head of divisional management unit, Kohima, Chisayi, has inaugurated Ehunnu village library and Tseminyu village resting shed on August 11 in the president of Dr. Sevono Seletsu, ACF & ADMU head, Kohima; Yhuntilo Kent, FMU head, Tseminyu; and JFMC chairman of the respective villages.
An update from Forest department stated that both the infrastructures were created under Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) assisted by JICA under the component of entry point activity and water harvesting structure.
Addressing the Ehunnu village members, the DFO encouraged the village community to continue to work in unity and stressed on the importance of women’s participation for overall development of the village community. He also encouraged the joint forest management committee members to utilise the library for the benefit of all.
Speaking in Tseminyu village, the DFO urged the village community members to work in cooperation for the success of the project. He also expressed happiness to know the decade-old plan to construct the resting shed has been finally materialised through NFMP.
Mentioning on the importance of women’s participation, the DFO emphasised that their participation would result in all round development of the village and the district as a whole.
It stated that the officer also visited the various forestry intervention model areas of both the villages.
It mentioned that Ehunnu and Tseminyu villages were selected under batch-III for NFMP implementation under divisional management Kohima division.
