For whom was Rahul campaigning?

For whom was Rahul Gandhi campaigning in Kohima? Parroting only what had been parroted to him there was absolutely nothing new but old stale issues most of which were infact in the first place surrogated by the Congress government in the centre. Beating the ruling DAN government with those old stale issues, it is very sad to see that the Congress party in Nagaland failed in recognizing the ‘double edged sword’ nature of those issues thereby lacerating itself more deeper than the assumed damage inflicted. Infact by voicing these issues Rahul only succeeded in giving merit to the voice of the NPF led DAN government which had been crying foul against the Central government for not just blocking promised funds but also of which was the legitimate due and right of the state.Rahul Gandhi also did his congress party no favor by stressing that unlike the Nagaland Chief Minister and his failed promises, he Rahul will not promise but give whatever energy he has to resolve the Naga problem. Rahul all the more sounded more like the prayer of the Pharisee in the parable which Lord Jesus gave in Luke 18. Dear Rahul, the writing is on the wall. We know that you know you are not coming back anywhere near in the future but anyway thanks for those energy even if it is very late in the day but no thanks for sleeping two terms over it.

Several hundreds or thousands jampacked the local ground Kohima curious to hear Rahul speak. The saying goes “curiosity killed the cat” but sadly in this case the cat happened to be the Congress party. I have heard and also read somewhere that any organization especially more a political party will die its natural but premature death if it is no more dynamic and bereft of new ideas. It is no rocket science to be unable to understand that if at all the congress wins this election, the congress party gains a lame duck MP and the Nagas loose a dynamic Central Minister with a plump portfolio. The stake is too high and as such a Chief Ministership is not big a price for that stake. Let us leave politics for another day and be realistic and prudent.
Here’s patting you on the back Rio. Go Rio go. Our prayers remain.
