Football Manager 2020 gets 1 million new players after being announced free at Epic Games store
Dimapur, Sept. 21 (EMN): Football Manager 2020, a popular football management simulation video game, registered 1 million new players in three days after being announced free to download at the Epic Games store.
The figures for Football Manager 2020 were revealed by Sports Interactive Studio director Miles Jacobson on his twitter page.
“We’ll have more people try out the game on @EpicGames in 36 hours than we had with our Steam free fortnight across 2 weeks!,” said Jacobson on Twitter. “Wow – what a reaction to the @epicgames free week. We were told to expect big numbers, but I am amazed with what we’re seeing – over 500,000 players of @FootballManager2020 on the platform in 24 hrs and over 120,000 currently playing on the platform. Hope you’re all enjoying it!” Miles tweeted.

More than a million new players have started playing Football Manager 2020 since the game went free on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Epic Game store.
In comparison, the game is priced at INR 2499 at the Steam store with an additional INR 360 if we want the in-game editor. Football Manager 2019, the previous iteration of the game, broke the 2 million sales mark last year. With the extreme surge in new players, Football Manager 2020 might hold the record for most sales if we consider the free downloads as sales.
In addition to Football Manager 2020 Epic Games made Watchdogs 2 a free to download game in its online store. The free download promotion by Epic Games will last until Sept. 24, 2020.
