Two-day Basic Food Safety Training and Certification in Kohima trains 200 FBOs on hygiene and food safety compliance.

DIMAPUR — The Food Safety Administration, Kohima Zone, Department of Health & Family Welfare, in co-ordination with training partners M/s SBS, Foresight Pvt. Ltd., Delhi, conducted two-day training on Basic Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) on March 11 and the 12th at the conference hall of Nagaland Institute of Allied & Healthcare.
According to an update, the training aimed to impart good hygienic practices and food safety compliance to Food Business Operators (FBOs) from the food services represented by hotels, restaurants, cafes, college canteens and school mid-day meals.

Further, street food vendors as well as street fruit and vegetable vendors were also trained.
In total, 200 FBOs from the mentioned establishments were trained in batches by FSSAI empanelled trainer Dr. Anup Kumar Tewari.
The trainees will be certified for two years by the training partners.
Further, any school mid-day meal operators, college canteens, office canteens who want to avail the FoSTaC may approach the Food Safety Section, CMO Office, Kohima, it stated.
