Food and music extravaganza at Kisama ahead of Nagaland’s Hornbill Festival 2023

KOHIMA — As a prelude to the much-anticipated Hornbill Festival 2023, ‘Food and Music Festival’ will be held at the Heritage Village in Kisama, featuring live music concert and an array of delectable food stalls, as the name of the event suggests.

The event will be organised by imagi.LAND, Ministry of Tourism, and government of Nagaland.

Announcement this at a press conference in Kohima on Monday, director of imagi.LAND, Elivino Seleyi informed that the event will take place from 1 pm to 10 pm on November 24, and 10 am to 10 pm on the 25th, with concerts commencing at 5 pm each day, showcasing a spectrum of genres including rock, pop, and hip-hop.

On the inaugural day, audience can groove to the performance of Coffee X Rovi, Big Dane, Brahmos, Orange, and Abdon Mech, while Trance Effect, Domik, ZT Slingshot, Papersky and The Gluttones will perform on the second day.

The festival also has a line-up of attractions, including a kid’s carnival, art installations, book corner, photobooth, and enchanting lover’s lock, among others.

Toka E Tuccumi, Deputy Director of Tourism, said that the timing of the event was strategic with the 10-day Hornbill Festival set to begin in a few days, as well as the tourist footfall slowly gaining momentum in the state.

He also said that Chief Minister of Nagaland could attend the inaugural programme of the event.

The organizers have conveyed that the entry fee to the venue is set at INR 50 per person.
