DIMAPUR — Dense fog conditions were very likely over parts of north eastern states of India over the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
In its all India impact based weather warning bulletin on Thursday, the IMD stated predicted dense fog in isolated pockets of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya, as well as West Madhya Pradesh, and north Rajasthan. These foggy conditions are likely to persist till Dec. 30, as per the bulletin.
It also predicted dense to very dense fog in many parts of Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh during the same period.
In light of the weather conditions, the IMD noted that the fog could affect airports, highways and railway routes in these areas. “Be careful while driving or outing through any transport. Use fog lights during driving. Be in touch with airlines, railways and state transport for schedule of your journey,” it advised in the bulletin.
