DIMAPUR — Tsarü village celebrated the Tsang-Rii Mübü Thüpcheh on August 14 at the Tsarü Village Community Hall with Metsübo Jamir, Minister for Rural Development and SIRD, as the special guest, and Sethrongkyü Sangtam, Advisor for Information and Technology, Economics and Statistics, and Evaluation, as the guest of honour.
According to an update, Jamir, in his address, shared that his father, NI Jamir’s favourite village after his native village, Longsa, was Chare village.
He said that attending the pre-harvest festival of the village was the outcome of a relationship built between his father’s generation and the villagers’ fathers’ generation, comparing it to harvesting the fruits of a long-standing bond.
Speaking on current issues, Jamir remarked that the most talked-about topic is the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT). He stated that when speaking of FNT, it must be remembered that during India’s independence and the subsequent formation of Nagaland, the Naga people were scattered across Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, and beyond. He clarified that FNT is not about separation but about understanding and working together.

He added that many misunderstand FNT, thinking it would create a separate Nagaland or a separate eastern region. He clarified that whether FNT comes or not, they would remain together as Nagaland.
Jamir also made several announcements for the development of Chare village. For the youth, he promised the establishment of a Panchayat Learning Centre. For the womenfolk, he announced a piggery farming project worth INR 50 lakhs.
He further assured that approach roads in and around the village would be constructed by him and hinted that Sethrongkyü would look into the main road. Additionally, he informed that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the road from Meyilong to Chare might be nearing completion, expressing hope that the work would commence soon.
Short speeches were delivered by the Sethrongkyü, Head GB L Nungshi, and EAC Chare Zerutso Kesiezie.
