Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): A Mahindra Bolero with five occupants was washed away by a flash flood at Langlung/Tseserü River between Shukhovi and Pimla village in Nagaland on October 4 evening.

The office-in-charge of Chümoukedima police station informed that sweeping currents had washed the vehicle away along with the occupants while it was attempting to cross the river.

He said that three out of the five occupants had managed to escape while another one was rescued. The remaining one is still missing.

One of the occupants who escaped was a 14-year-old girl, he added.

The officer informed that the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dimapur, along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Home Guard and Civil Defence personnel were conducting a search operation in the area.
