Five men soccer tourney kick start at Wokha

Wokha, Nov. 1 (EMN): The second edition five man open soccer tournament organised by the Air Field youth sports committee kick started at Air Field Colony, Wokha on Wednesday under the motto “towards unity” .
Gracing the occasion as the chief guest, Y. Vungthungo Kikon, principal Government Higher Secondary School, Wokha in his speech informed that physical fitness through sports occupies an important aspect for life. He noted that as an educational department, sports is highly regarded as a co-curricular activities that strengthen the student mentally, spiritually and physically. Sport is a scholastic activity that helps young people come together and learn new things and helps oneself to express and understand one another he added. Informing the young players, he also advised them not to be mislead with the celebrities fashion and styles but to look up with their profession and strive to achieve like them, reminding that sports profession not only earns fame and money but people use to carry their names and cherish their name even they retires.
Meanwhile, he wishing the organisers to strive ahead with the motto and encourage them to continue work for the upcoming generation, where he also assured them and support to collectively work together, to look forward for unity among the brothers for a better future and also advice the players to have a patience and dedication reminding them that a good sports man has to carry the identity and have a true sportsman spirit.
11 teams are vying for the trophy which will culminate on Nov. 7.
