Dimapur, Nov. 29 (EMN): The first foundation day of Nagaland Body Building & Fitness Association (NBBFA) was observed on Nov. 29 at Centre for Community Transformation, Bethesda.
Director of John Mission, Yanger Aier, who was the speaker for the event, shared about his interest in maintaining a good physique from his earlier days.
Citing the motto of the NBBFA, “Rethink, rebuild and reveal,” he urged upon the association to lay a strong foundation among both young and older generation by encouraging them how important it is to build and maintain a good health. He also requested the organisation to mobilize and sensitise even individuals from other parts of the state and not to confine it within Kohima and Dimapur.
He also expressed his strong conviction that through NBBFA, all the gym owners in the state will have a platform to address the need of a good physique among the younger generation.
Addressing the young body builders who were present at the foundation day, Aier also encouraged them to be disciplined and consistent as this are the two important goals towards a body building.
Secretary of NBBFA, Teiso Solo shared his journey of the NBBFA and highlighted that the association which was formed on Nov. 29 2016, emerged with the need to have a proper platform for the body builders of the state to showcase their talents.
He also said the objective of the association is to create health awareness amongst the children, youth, senior citizens and physically challenged people; to promote and create platform for the body builders to compete at state, national and international levels; to supervise district units in matter relating to the welfare of the members; to initiate and strengthen local gyms in the state; and to foster interest and commitment towards better health and fitness through physical culture, proper nutrition and weight training.
Further, Solo said the desire to build a strong body is not a new dream or a new concept since from the late 70’s and 80’s Naga started body building training at their own level with their crude equipments. He also informed that the association has been legally registered under Home department of Society Registration Act of 1860.
