Dimapur, Oct. 20 (EMN): Fisheries and Aquatic Resources department conducted a one-day skill upgradation training on value addition of fish products under Rashtriya Khrishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) for the youth of Khedi Baptist Church, Kohima, at on October 12.
According to a DIPR report, the training was conducted with an aim topromote entrepreneurship. It stated that trainees were given hands-on training on preparation of fish pickle, fish cutlet, fish finger, fish ball and fish soup with emphasis on hygienic, product packaging and food safety measures.
Resource persons included fight department officials led by the district fishery officer, Kohima.
At the closing programme, Neitho Kuotsu, deputy director and scheme in-charge of RKVY, encouraged the trainees to become self-reliant by utilising the skills and knowledge imparted in the training programme.
Kevidzenyü Mere, associate pastor of Khedi Baptist Church, thanked the department for conducting the training for the church youth.
A total of 26 youth attended the day-long training programme.
