First youth conference of Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak held in Manipur

Imphal, Oct. 13 (EMN): With the theme ‘Our roots, our strength,’ the first youth conference of Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak (TRC), an indigenous faith, was formally opened at Ragailong area in Imphal on Saturday.
Manipur Works and Rural Development Minister Th Biswajit Singh was the chief guest of the opening function.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister called upon the youths to work hard today for the better tomorrow.

Stating that youths are the future pillars of the society, Biswajit urged them to be optimistic while dealing with things for better society.
“We must stand to preserve, promote and protect our culture, traditions and identities. The youth conference being held is a significant step to trace our roots, he said adding further that it is the duty of each and every one of us to preserve our own identity,” he said.

Hoisting of conference flag by the chief guest, invocation to Tingkao Ragwang, oblation of holy wine to Tingkao Ragwang, extraction of sacred fire and candle lighting are the highlight of the inaugural session.

President Lungaithao Pamei of TRC Chabuan organisation Manipur said the main objective of organising the conference was to protect, preserve and promote the age old cultural and religious values of the community.

“The indigenous faith TRC believes in regeneration of the traditional faith to the glory again and passes on to the next generation and the next,” he said.
MLA Okram Henry, President of Neroca Football Club Thangjam Arunkumar, Ragailong area leader Gonthangmei Kakhangai, President Meishonglung Pamei of TRC organisation, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (AMN) also attended the function.
