Dimapur, April 23 (EMN): The first ever Virtual Reality (VR) Lounge in Nagaland was opened to public on April 22 at ‘The Hammock Resort,’ New Wokha.
Prior to the opening, the VR lounge was blessed and inaugurated by Rev. NT Murry in the presence of Dr. Chumben Murry, chairman of Hammock Group, and Ronjamo C Murry, proprietor of RMUR Enterprises, along with their families and well-wishers.
VR lounge is a joint venture by Hammock Group and RMUR Enterprises. It offers various different virtual reality (VR) experiences starting from INR 100. The different experiences currently available at the VR lounge included fun combat simulations, racing simulations, flying simulations, and many more.
Some of the experiences involve the use of real-life simulation peripherals like racing wheels with shifters and pedals for driving or racing which too are available at the VR lounge, the organisers stated in a press release.
“With computer games, e-sports and other similar technologies catching up to us faster than ever before, it is high time for us to stop seeing or using them as a waste of time but rather channel it into fruitful and sustainable ventures to tackle unemployment problems among our youth,” proprietor of RMUR Enterprises said. He also informed that they are considering to expand the VR lounge to other districts and towns in Nagaland in the near future if the venture is successful in Wokha.
