Mother’s Day is a celebration honouring the mothers of the family, as well as motherhood bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated every second Sunday of May in India and on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. Every Mother’s Day I celebrate my mother’s life to appreciate her for she has played an immensely important role in my life and who was selfless, showered unconditional love to her three(3)sons and six(6) daughters starting from feeding us to teaching us manners, how to pray, fearing God at all times, our mother did it all. However, this year I celebrate Mother’s Day full of emotion and sweet memories as my most beloved prayer warrior mother has gone to the Lord on 26th December 2020, who was a faithful servant of God spent more than 18 years in Jakhama Baptist Church Prayer Home praying for her church, families, village, Nagaland and nations. In her time in Prayer Home every morning before dawn she would go round the entire church compound in tears praying for the churches and nations. In her sick bed she knew she is going to the Lord and anxiously looking forward the 2020 Christmas celebration and praying for her youngest son who is a Pastor and bringing sermon on Christmas Day in her most affectionate church. The funeral rites was performed by her favourite Sr. Pastor surrounded by so many of her loved and dear ones singing and praising God proclaiming that a child of God is gone to be with the Lord. And on this day I say Good-Bye to my Mother with an assurance to continuously celebrate her good life of 83 years and not to forget her precious words – “To be always in the fear of the Lord God Almighty and remain a faithful servant of God”. Remembering all our fun times together with mother on every Mother’s Day today I am missing her but I’m holding her close to my heart and thinking of her bringing all immense happiest memories.
Yes on Mother’s Day, people express their love, respect, honour and gratitude to their mother. Together, let’s all honour our mother on this Day who raised us – making sacrifices for us every day and nurturing our families and greater communities.
