Kohima, Sep. 29 (EMN): Neitho Chadi of Club Area 51 emerged as the champion of the 1st Snooker Ranking Tournament organised by Cue Association of Nagaland (CAN) after defeating Tongpangkokba Longchar from Atou Snooker Club by 2-1 frames in the final game on Sunday in Kohima.

Winning the final which was played at Club Area 51 here at Jail Colony, Chadi received a cash prize of INR 15,000 while Longchar had to be content with INR 7,000 with citations.

Tongpangkokba Longchar also bagged the highest break point award (35 points) and received INR 4,000 while semi-finalists Temjemlemba Longchar and Tokugha Chishi pocketed INR 2000 each.

Zhovi Kire gave away the prizes to the winners as the patron during the closing ceremony.

Top eight players have been qualified for the next ranking event which will take place in the month of January 2020.

Altogether, 40 players from Kohima and Dimapur district took part in the tournament that was conducted from September 26 to the 29th.
