First opioid substitution centre in state inaugurated at Noklak

Dimapur, Feb. 14 (EMN): The first satellite opioid substitution therapy (OST) centre in Nagaland was inaugurated at Community Health Centre in Noklak on Feb. 8 by the deputy chief medical officer of Tuensang Dr. I Temsu Longchar. A press release from CMO office Tuensang on Wednesday informed.
In his speech, Dr. Longchar encouraged parents and civil society to support the OST programme so that a drug dependent person can slowly lead a productive life in future through this service.
During the launching of the satellite OST, nine clients from parent OST centre District Hospital Tuensang were transferred to Noklak satellite OSTC and five new clients were registered out of which two clients started the treatment, it informed.
