Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): The first Naga Indian Ordnance Factories Services (IOFS) officer, Chumdemo Ngullie passed away after a prolonged illness at Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad in Telangana on July 11, according to a DIPR report on Friday.
The 51-year-old officer, from Pangti village in Wokha dsitrict, was working as the Joint General Manager of Ordnance Factory, Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh under the Union Ministry of Defence.
His mortal remains reached Dimapur Airport on Friday, where a short service was held in his honour. Hundreds of people paid homage and laid wreath as a mark of respect to the departed soul, the report stated.
After the service at the airport, his body was taken to Pangti village, it stated.
Ngullie is survived by his wife and two sons. He was of the 1994 UPSC batch (group A). Ngullie had also worked briefly in the NEC as assistant secretary.
