Dimapur, Sep. 29 (EMN): The department of Social Welfare under the establishment of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), ICDS- Pfutsero held an inauguration programme of Model Centre at Pfutseromi village, Anganwadi Centre – C on September 29.
Welete Kapfo, official PS to minister for Planning and Co-ordination, Parliamentary Affairs and Land Revenue, Nagaland; Kohima was the inaugural guest, an update stated.
In the inaugural programme, Kapfo acknowledged the government and the department for their efforts to uplift the society by taking initiatives to bring social changes in the villages and rural areas through nutritional and educational development assistance.
He also cited that the village was fortunate to be selected as the first Model Centre among 62 centres under Pfutsero ICDS. He encouraged the Anganwadi workers and helpers to put more effort in developing and shaping the society for a better tomorrow.
‘‘Quoting ‘health is wealth’ he stressed on having healthy children where the future will prosper through healthy children and bring all round development in the society,’’ it read.
The program was led by Nyitso Therie, supervisor, Social Welfare ICDS-Pfutsero. Zekozo Mero, VDB secretary, Pfutseromi acknowledged the department and the CDPO – ICDS Pfutsero for their sincere effort to bring out the Anganwadi Model Centre at Pfutseromi village. A brief report on the Anganwadi Model Centre was laid out by Keneikesangulie Zumu, CDPO Pfutsero; he also gave a brief note on Poshan Abhiyan as it is being observed from September 1 to the 30th. The program ended with a note of gratitude from M. Mero, Chairman, Pfutseromi Village Council, it added.
