First level checking of EVMs held in Wokha

Dimapur, Dec. 14 (EMN): First Level Checking (FLC) of EVMs was conducted in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, Wokha, on December 13 under the strict supervision of the deputy commissioner, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon. Security passes were issued to authorised personnel only to enter the venue for the checking. A DIPR report stated that altogether 290 EVMs were checked in which four were found defective and in need of replacement. Representatives and officials from three political parties namely BJP, NPF and INC were present during the first level checking of EVMs. Later in the day, the district also conducted a National Quiz 2017-18 under the aegis of Election Commission of India (ECI) in which students from three schools took part in the competition. The winners would represent the district at the State level competition. Meanwhile it informed that mock poll would be conducted on December 14 in the DC’s conference hall.
