Imphal, Dec. 18 (EMN): The first Goodwill Car Rally, organised by Sainik School Imphal Alumni Association Adventure Club (SSIAA), was flagged off by Principal Capt (IN) Vinay Tiwari of Sainik School Imphal from the premises of the School at Pangei near Imphal on Monday. The rally, to be organised annually, was conceptualised by the SSIAA as a venture to evoke the spirit of fraternity in all the North East states which have a large number of Alumni of Sainik School Imphal.
In his address Capt (IN) Tiwari said that Sainik School Imphal, established in the year 1971, is one of the most important institutions in the country today. Over the last four and half decades of its existence, Sainik School Imphal has been contributing to the great nation’s growth and development of human resources for almost all walks of life besides grooming young cadets for the uniformed services.
He further added that Discipline, Courage, Fraternity, Excellence and National character being the premise, the Alumni of Sainik School Imphal are embarking upon to rejuvenate with a mission and to collectively work to build a stronger nation responding to various needs of the society from time to time.
The SSIAA reaffirms to live in the bond of fraternity reconnected by institution's umbilical cord with a vision of offering a common and meaningful platform to all the Alumni of all the Sainik Schools in the country whenever they are in the state and the region, he added.
The rally, starting from Manipur, with 25 members in eight vehicles will cover the states of Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram. Staffs and students of Sainik School, Imphal also took part in the function along with the members of the Alumni.
Meanwhile Superintendent of Police, Imphal East Kabib K accompanied by SDPO M Bishworjit of Lamlai Police Station, Imphal East, inaugurated the two day Annual Science & Arts Exhibition 2017-18 in respect of Sainik School Imphal (SSI) at the Academic Block of the school at Pangei,near Imphal on Monday. The Exhibition drew cynosure of the visitors with various immaculate models on science and arts prepared by the school cadets.
SP Kabib also interacted with the cadets and appreciated them for their enthusiasm and skills in exploring their knowledge base in Science and Arts through their models. The exhibition was organised as part of the 45th Annual Day Celebrations of the school and will continue till Dec. 19.
