[dropcap]I[/dropcap]MTISENLA who always wanted to score her own album released her 1st solo album ‘First Flight’ at Bambusa Restaurant (Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre), 5th Mile, Dimapur with Dr Nicky Kire, parliamentary secretary for Law and Justice, Land Revenue and Labour & Employment as chief guest. Imtisenla talking about her ‘First Flight’ she said, “It is named ‘First Flight’ because a first flight is never without its share of doubt and apprehension about what lies ahead, plus faith in God and oneself that anything and everything is possible.”
Releasing the album, Dr Nicky Kire said ‘Music’ should not be expressed only in times of happiness but should express even times of sadness and further expressed hope that her (Imtisenla) beginning will go far.
Imtisenla who grew up listening to all genres of music started her singing career at very early age in churches has participated in Naga Orpheus Hunt 2011 (formally known as Naga Idol) and was adjudged first runners-up. She also won gold medal in solo competition during Varsity Fest in NEHU Shillong in 2007 and came out first in the first edition of Inter-ward solo competition in Kohima 2011.
