First edition 3x3 Basketball tournament concludes

MOKOKCHUNG — The first 3x3 Basketball Tournament, organised by Zungia and Tepenjem Basketball Club in partnership with Nagaland Basketball Association, concluded on December 16 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.

In the men’s category, Team Z and Team Mashi Mashi emerged as champions and runner- up respectively, while in the women’s category, team Anishi took first position and the Alley Oop Troop were placed second.

The main objective of the tournament is to nurture the younger generation in the field of basketball through this kind of micro-events, also known as seed events.

The Zungia and Tepenjem members called upon the citizens of the town to come forward and invest their “goodwill gestures” through whatever they can in order  to create opportunities for the youngsters, keeping in mind that “good things come in small packages.”
