Dimapur, Aug. 11 (EMN): A team of First Community Responder (FCR) under Angami Youth Organization (AYO) carried out various activities, including massive clearance of clogged drains, assisting fire victim, and checking of possible influx of illegal immigrants and zonal taxi within its jurisdiction on Saturday.
According to a press release from the team, FCR AYO volunteers and the T Khel Union of Kohima village conducted massive social work stretching between Classic
Island, Kohima town, and National Highway–29. The elders of T Khel Union guided the volunteers in identifying the traditional river routes which were clogged due to random construction. The volunteers cleared up the blocked drainages and cleared routes.
A team of FCR AYO also responded by assisting in clearing debris of houses ravaged by fire at T Khel, Kohima Village in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Chakhro based AYO FCR team conducted intensive investigation throughout the day by checking documents of non-Nagas being ferried by taxis at the Chumukedima check gate.

It included identity confirmation of various documents of non locals, ferrying excess taxi passengers, hiked taxi rates/fares, driving license, taxi permit etc.
The investigation was initiated “to curb the possible influx of illegal immigrants due to the fall out of the National Register of Citizens in Assam while scrupulous taxi drivers were taking undue advantage by hiking passenger fare due to the prevalent precarious situation triggered by landslides between Dimapur and Kohima,” the release issued.
The volunteers have detected various anomalies including those trying to pass the gate without proper documents.
It was also observed that several taxi drivers were without driving license and taxi permits. The FCR AYO handed over the defaulters to police for necessary action, the press release added.
