First batch trainees pass out from Unnati Training Center

Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): Unnati Skill Centre set up in IDAN, Kohima, held a valedictory programme for its first batch passed-out trainees on December 2 at the training center.

An update stated that, additional director, department of Technical Education, Vipulhou Lhoungu, the special guest of the event, in his address congratulated the graduating trainees for successfully completing the 35-day training and getting placement in various companies in New Delhi and Bangalore.

Lhoungu encouraged the trainees to work hard and become torch bearers for the Unnati Skill Centre as well as the state. He reminded the students that there will be challenges in terms of culture, food and lifestyle in the metros, and motivated the trainees to be sincere and hardworking.

He appreciated the initiative of the IDAN led by Alemtemshi Jamir, CEO, and also acknowledged Reny Wilfred, joint secretary, for being the guiding force behind setting up of the center and also constantly monitoring the progress of the trainees, it stated.

Lhoungu also thanked Boeing International for sponsoring/funding the training center and Unnati for imparting training to the unemployed youth of Nagaland.

Joint secretary, IDAN, Reny Wilfred, highlighted on the thought processes that went in setting up of the skill training center.

He thanked Pravenna of Boeing International for proposing to set up a youth empowerment center in Nagaland, which ultimately led to the setting up of Unnati Skill Center at Kohima. Wilfred also thanked the department of Technical Education for coming onboard, and categorically stated that IDAN is only a facilitating agency and department of Technical Education will be handholding and taking forward the ongoing project henceforth.

Unnati training programme is 35-day training with 100% job placement. Courses offered include tally, GST, spoken English, computer skill, Life skills, hygiene, counselling, etiquettes and confidence building. 

After graduating from the programme, Unnati shall provide job placement to the trainees as per their competencies in various pre-identified companies in various capacities, it stated.

The Unnati skill programme aims to educate the trainees and create a niche in providing job opportunities to the unemployed youth of the state in private sectors.

The first batch of eight trainees successfully completed the 35-day training and has been placed in pre-identified companies located at New Delhi and Bangalore.
