DIMAPUR — The first annual sports meet of the Gorkha Students' Union Chümoukedima District (GSUCD), hosted by Singrijan and Khopanala village, culminated on Friday at Singrijan village ground.
The valedictory function was attended by Kezhawelie Richa, president of Chakhroma Students' Union, as the chief guest; Gopal Lama, president Chümoukedima District Gorkha Union, as special invitee and Tezu Pradhan, head GB of Singrijan and Khopanala village, as guest of honour, GSUCD informed in an update.
Richa, in his address, said that he was very happy to see the Gorkhas of Chümoukedima district “grow,” while also appreciating the contribution of Gorkhas in Nagaland state.
Lama spoke on the growing popularity of sports and encouraged the Gorkhas of Chümoukedima district to pursue sports professionally, aside from studies.
Pradhan also highlighted on the contribution of Gorkhas in Nagaland.
Singrijan and Khopanala village team emerged as the overall champion of the sports meet.
