Fire razes labourers’ houses at 7th mile

Dimapur, May 2 (EMN):

A major fire broke out at around 8 pm 7th Mile in Dimapur on Friday night, and caused heavy damaged to houses and properties of residents.

The inferno reportedly razed around 22 houses, according to sources.

According to the police, the fire was caused by a power short circuit.

The police informed Eastern Mirror that they received the call at 8:21 pm. The emergency services personnel were able to douse off the fire by 9:20 pm. 

An individual watches the fire that broke out on Friday night at 7th Mile in Dimapur.

The police said there were no casualties. However, the fire destroyed property worth an estimated INR 10 lakh in property.

Sources informed that the houses which were burnt were dwellings of labourers who work at a stone crusher, which was nearby.
