DIMAPUR — In a tragic incident on March 31, a thatch house in Seluophe village, Chümoukedima, was completely destroyed by a fire. No casualties were reported in the incident.
According to officials from the Chümoukedima Fire Station, they received the distress call around 12:34 pm and reached the scene by approximately 12:52 pm. However, by the time they arrived, the fire had engulfed the entire thatch house, and they were unable to salvage any belongings.
The cause of the fire and the estimated property loss are yet to be determined.
The fire department dispatched one fire tender from Chümoukedima and another from Dimapur to the location, the officer said.
