Fire gutted 8 shops in Doyapur bazaar

DIMAPUR — A total of eight shops at Doyapur Bazaar under Dhansiripar sub-division in Chümoukedima district were gutted in a devastating fire which broke out at around 8:45 pm on April 8.

An update from the Doyapur Bazaar Committee stated that goods worth INR 15 lakh was destroyed in the inferno. It, however, stated that there was no casualty in the incident. It added that that the cause of fire was not known.

Report stated that timely intervention of fire fighters from Dimapur and police personnel at Dhansiripar police outpost could control the fire from spreading to adjoin areas.

Meanwhile, the Doyapur Bazaar Committee has appreciated all the neighbours, police fire personnel for their help during the fire incident.
