
A resident struggles to douse the fire.
- DIMAPUR — A fire
that broke out at MST Chakhesang colony in Dimapur on Monday evening razed
three godowns and a scrap shop.
- Officer-in-charge of Central Fire Station, Baushong Phom,
informed that they had received a distress call at around 6.30 pm and
immediately dispatched four fire tenders.
- He informed that the operation was joined by one more fire
tender from Chümoukedima and two from the West Fire Station.

- Phom stated that it took around two hours to bring the fire
under control, and the fire tenders also had to be refilled during the
operation. The affected godowns included National Road Carrier (NRC) Godown,
Online Logistic Godown, a furniture storage facility, and a scrap shop.
- Due to persistent flames beneath the debris, a bulldozer was
brought in to completely douse the fire.
- The cause of the fire and the estimated loss of property
were yet to be determined; no casualties have been reported.
