Timely intervention by the fire personnel prevented the fire from spreading to the adjoining areas. There was also no report of any casualty or injury.

The four shops destroyed by the fire included a mattress shop, photo frame shop, poultry shop and bicycle repair shop.

According to fire officials, the cause of the fire is suspected to be due to an electric short circuit.
