Fire damages 4 houses at Khensa village in Mokokchung
MOKOKCHUNG: Three houses were razed to the ground while one was partially damaged in a fire incident at Khensa village, Mokokchung district in the early hours of May 30.
According to officials from Mokokchung Fire Station Central, the incident occurred around midnight. Fire officials informed that they got a report of the incident around 12:15 am and two fire engines were pressed into action to douse the fire.
Officials added that the fire started from the house of one Imliwapang, and spread to the adjacent houses of Tiameren and Rentinungba, which were completely engulfed by the inferno. The partially damaged house belonged to S Ayim.
Khensa
Officials reported that it took about 50 minutes for the fire fighters and the volunteers from Khensa village to bring the fire under control.
It was reported that property worth INR 20 lakh were destroyed by the fire. However, no casualties were reported.
