Fire damage two vehicles

Personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services douse a fire at 10th Mile, in Tuli on February 10.

Dimapur, Feb. 11 (EMN): Two vehicles including a truck and a Maruti car were damaged in fire at Dimapur and Tuli on February 10 and 11 respectively.

An update from the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) stated that one household goods laden truck was gutted at Fire Range, Diphu road, on February 10 at around 7:30 am. It added that on receiving a call, a team from Fire Station Dimapur (West) along with two fire tenders was pressed into service to control the fire.

It stated that the fire team took about 55 minutes to bring the fire under control. It added that properties worth INR 5 lakh approximately were lost in the inferno. It however stated properties worth INR 15 lakh could be salvaged and there was no casualty. The cause of fire was due to the truck coming in touch with live wire, it added.

In a separate incident, one Maruti 800 car was damaged in a fire at 10th Mile in Tuli under Mokokchung district on February 11 around 2:35 pm.

It stated that a team from Fire Station in Tuli with sufficient personnel and equipment were pressed into service to control the fire after receiving a call. It stated that properties worth INR 25000 approximately were lost in the inferno. The cause of fire was suspected to be due to short circuit.
