IMPHAL, NOVEMBER 23: Fire broke out at fuel outlet Phulchand Trilokchand filling station, also known as the PCTC, here on Wednesday morning, burning a fuel tanker and the portion of a nearby house. The fire broke out from an oil tanker at the oil pump near the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance academy complex around 11.30 am. Although the cause of fire was not known officially till this report going to press, reports collected from the spot claimed that the fire broke out when fuel was being transferred from the tanker. There were no reports of human casualty. The sudden fire took the hundreds of people who were queued with their vehicles in front of the PCTC fuel outlet early in the morning. The state has been facing scarcity of fuel due to ongoing economic blockade on supply lines since midnight of November 1 this year. Fortunately the timely arrival of the 40-member Manipur Fire Services team with support from the police controlled the fire within 30 minutes.
