FIR filed against Robert Kikon in sexual misconduct case
Arrest warrant out; accused pastor still absconding
DIMAPUR — An arrest warrant is reportedly out for Robert Kikon after the Fathers’ House Church (FHC) in Chümoukedima—where he was a senior pastor until recently—filed an FIR against him following revelations of sexual misconduct.
Official information remains scarce till date. However, the DCP of Chümoukedima, Watichuchang Jamir, confirmed to Eastern Mirror on Saturday that a case has been registered following the FIR by the church.
Another source informed that the accused pastor is still absconding. It was informed that he had withdrawn all his money from his bank account before disappearing. Police continue to search for him.
It is worth recalling that the Father’s House Church in Chumoukedima had recently announced the resignation of its senior pastor, Robert Kikon, as various accounts emerged of his alleged involvement in ‘serious immoral acts that violate the church’s ethical and moral standards’.
In an official statement, the church had stated that the accused had “engaged in conduct that does not align with the moral and ethical standards we uphold as a church”.
As reported earlier, following the resignation of Robert Kikon from his position as senior pastor at Fathers’ House Church amidst allegations of molestation, the Asia Harvest Alliance (AHA) had released a statement clarifying their involvement with the preacher now at the centre of a sexual scandal.
The AHA had informed that Kikon was asked to step down from his post and renounce his church membership on September 19. A letter from the church board cited “immoral activities” but did not elaborate on the specific allegations leading to his resignation.
